Dosage and how to take combined ibuprofen and codeine
Dosage and strength
Combined ibuprofen and codeine contains 200mg of ibuprofen and 12.8mg of codeine in each tablet.
Different brands have different doses, so it's important to read the instructions that come with your medicine.
However, the usual dose for adults and children aged 12 years and over is 1 or 2 tablets, taken every 4 to 6 hours.
If you're not sure how much to take, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.
Important
Do not take more than 6 combined ibuprofen and codeine tablets in 24 hours.
How to take it
Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water.
It's best to take it with, or just after, food or a drink of milk so it does not upset your stomach. Do not take it on an empty stomach.
